The downsides to People PC are that they don't offer a firewall or a webfilter and of course if you need something faster than dial-up you'll have to go with a different provider.

Feature Set:  

PeoplePC offers unlimited Internet access to people nationwide. One feature that sets PeoplePC apart from its competitors is Smart Dialer—this technology provides faster, more reliable connections than normal dial-up.

PeoplePC also provides basic email with spam protection to keep your inbox free of junkmail.

Though PeoplePC doesn't offer a firewall or webfilter they do offer some other protective features like parental controls, virus protection and popup blocker.

Service Area:  

PeoplePC offers nationwide coverage with access to more than 8,831 phone numbers for you to connect to their dial-up service. See their website to see if service is available in your immediate area.

Connection Speed:  

PeoplePC offers basic dial-up service or you can upgrade to their accelerator plan to increase your connection speeds—of course you will pay a little more each month for the accelerator package.

Customer Service/Support:  

PeoplePC offers free email support and an online FAQ's page. Calls for technical issues are $1.95 a minute.

Summary:  

PeoplePC offers nationwide basic Interent service at a reasonable price—they throw in a few perks like spam protection, virus protection, and parental controls. If price is more important to you than connection speeds, this ISP may be a good fit for you.
